Features
Comparison of PAT500-80TM (40 kW) and PXT20K-500 x 2 units (40 kW)
Output power range 2.25 to 3x ratio power type operating
The operating range of the PXT series is a “2.25 to 3x ratio” Power type that allows a wide range of voltage and Current setting combinations. For example, the PXT20K-500 can operate from 500V-40A to 166.6V-120A. Seamless Operating range up to 20 kW of Rating Output power is possible.
Low Ripple Noise
This switching-type power supply has low ripple noise.
*PXT20K-500: Specified value 700 mVp-p (100 mVrms)
Excellent Versatility Thanks to Wide-Range Output
Covers multiple single-range models!
Excellent Transient response
Transient response of 6ms or less* ensures high-quality output waveforms even when Current changes abruptly.
*The time required for the output voltage to return within ± (0.1 % + 10 mV) of the rated output voltage when the CV mode response is set to FAST. The output current fluctuation value is 50 % to 100 % of the maximum current at the set output voltage.
Optimized for different purposes and applications, with selectable response speeds
The required Response speed of the power supply equipment depends on the test conditions and load specifications. pXT The series can change the response speed of the power supply as desired to suit the application.
Equipped with touch panel display
By pressing or swiping the display with a finger, the user can select an item on the screen or set a numerical value. The display is pressure-sensitive and can be operated even with gloves on.
Bleeder ON/OFF Function
By turning on the bleeder function, the charge accumulated on the load side at the time of OUTPUTOFF can be quickly discharged to lower the Output voltage.
A battery connected to the output terminal will be discharged when the bleeder function is on, even if the OUTPUT is turned off. In such cases, unnecessary discharge can be prevented by turning the bleeder function off.
Item | Description |
---|---|
Enable | Turns the bleeder function on. Sink current flows when the output is off. |
Disable | Disables the bleeder function. Prevents unintended discharge when output is turned off.
However, a low sink current will still flow due to the resistance inside the PXT series.
The reference values of the internal resistance are as follows: PXT20K-500: approx. 55 kΩ PXT20K-1500: approx. 560 kΩ |
Priority Operation Mode
It is possible to set which Operation mode is used when the output is turned on. When a battery or power supply is connected, overshoot can be prevented by giving priority to CC mode.
Operation modes that can be set: Constant voltage (CV), Constant current (CC), Constant power (CP) mode
Faster no load fall time
The PXT series has a no load fall time of 750 ms. This contributes to shorter takt time.
External Control Function

Sequence function
Pre-defined actions can be executed continuously. A total of 30 programs can be created, and the Maximum number of steps can be up to 10,000 for all programs. Programs stored in the main unit’s memory can be exported to USB memory from the front panel.
Variable internal resistance feature
This function changes the Output voltage value according to the Output current value based on the set resistance value in constant voltage operation. Internal resistance of rechargeable batteries, wire harnesses, etc. can be simulated in a simplified manner.
I-V characteristic function
By registering multiple arbitrary points on the I-V characteristics, arbitrary I-V characteristics can be set for each CC and CV operation mode. Since 3 to 100 arbitrary points can be registered, it is possible to simulate I-V characteristics of rechargeable batteries, etc.
Parallel operation can realize up to 25 units, 500 kW. *
Up to 25 units (500 kW) can be connected in parallel, including the master unit. The connection is a Master-slave parallel operation, and the panel of the master unit can control and display the entire system. Since it has an automatic recognition function, a large-capacity system can be constructed without complicated settings.
* Parallel operation is possible between models with different input rated voltages.

Equipped with Standard LAN Interface and VMCB Function
The PXT series comes standard with LAN, USB, and RS232C as communication interfaces. In addition, when used in conjunction with Virtual Multichannel (VMCB), which enables virtual grouping and management of multiple PXT series units, the PXT series can efficiently perform not only 1-to-N, but also N-to-M and large-scale networked remote control and monitoring. This can be utilized to save communication ports or to match the control timing of multiple (up to 8) PXT series units. Multichannel can also be used to mix and match our PXB series as well.
When connecting the VMCB master unit via LAN
Communication monitoring function
Communication monitoring function is provided. For example, if the LAN cable is disconnected and communication is not established, an alarm (alarm lamp lights up) and Turns the output off if there is no communication within a set period of time. This function prevents operation in an uncontrolled state and improves system reliability.

Security for LAN connections
Access to the built-in web server can be restricted with a password. Also, when using VXI-11, HiSLIP, and SCPI-RAW for control, host restrictions can be set with the IP address. It is possible to prevent access from any terminal other than the ones registered as a host (up to 4 hosts can be registered).
